Hengshun Zhongsheng Won “Harare Social Responsibility Award” of Zimbabwe
On the night of November 30, the first ceremony of “Harare Social Responsibility Award” was hosted by Harare Provincial Government of Zimbabwe at Crowne Plaza in the capital of Zimbabwe. About 400 guests attended the ceremony, among whom were Minister of State for Harare Provincial Affairs Chikukwa, President of Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Mangudya, China’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe Huan Ping, Commercial and Economic Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Li Yaohui and other embassy diplomats, key officers of Chamber of Chinese enterprises and Zimbabwean Government, representatives of enterprises and media. Manager of Zimbabwe subsidiary Liu Baixue was present at the ceremony on behalf of the Group.
Minister of State for Harare Provincial Affairs Chikukwa stated in a speech in the ceremony that the Social Responsibility Award is set up to reward the caring enterprises, organizations and individuals, encourage enterprises, organizations and individuals to bear their social responsibilities, help the weak and unprivileged, value undertakings for public benefits, and publicize positive energy and images of organizations, enterprises and individuals. 27 winners in this year were selected by designated third-party agency from 250 candidate enterprises, organizations and individuals.
Three Chinese enterprises and organizations including Hengshun Zhongsheng have won awards. Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Zimbabwe won “First Prize of Economic Development” for its remarkable contribution to economy and society of Zimbabwe. Hengshun Zhongsheng won “First Prize of Education Excellence” for its sponsorship of Zimbabwean students to study in China. Chamber of Commerce of Zimbabwe won “Second Prize of Child Welfare” for its care for orphans and disadvantaged children.
With upholding its culture of gratitude and actively performing social responsibility for public benefits, this Award won by Hengshun Zhongsheng is a reflection of approval and recognition from Zimbabwean Government and citizens and also a manifestation of “Chinese Power” in Zimbabwean responsibility for public benefits.
